If you are looking for a used industrial sewing machine for sale you may find it a little harder to find a good used machine than you would a standard home sewing machine.  Fewer used industrial machines are ever on the market and usually not for long.  But if you want to buy a used machine like a walking foot sewing machine then there are a few ways to go about it.

Although there is no best way necessarily, I think Craigslist is the first place to try.  Of course you can scan your local classified sections in your daily newspaper and see if there are any industrial sewing machines there first.

Type in "industrial sewing machine" into Craigslist and see what pops up.  You might want to change your geographic area a little by expanding your region to reach other nearby cities if you don't have any luck on the first try.  Try typing in "walking foot sewing machine" and "leather sewing machine" for variations.  If you don't find any sewing machines for sale make sure you check back every day. When they come on the market these machines go fast.

You can also try placing a free ad on Craigslist asking if anyone has a used industrial sewing machine for sale and see what kind of response you get.

Of course there are other places to look for and buy a used sewing machine.  You can try eBay and see if they have any or try other auction sites.

But for a used machine it would be better if it were near your home so you could take a look at it and inspect it.  If you get this chance take along some fabric or material so you can try it out - maybe some quilting material or upholstery fabric. You want to make sure it works properly and doesn't need repair.

There are usually a few sewing and quilting groups in most areas.  I would contact the quilting groups and maybe go to a quilting session and see if anyone knows of a walking foot or industrial sewing machine for sale. Maybe one of the members has one of these great machines.  But they're all regular quilters and may have access to a Juki sewing machine or one of the others.

If you have a community college in your area you might want to check with the sewing instructor to see if he/she knows of any sewing machines for sale or has any other resources for one.  Maybe the class has a used one the college wants to sell.
